Do you jot down ideas as you paint? Maybe you have an ongoing writing practice and are inspired by visual art. Join poet and artist Cathleen Cohen to explore ekphrasis, the link between images and words. Deepen and expand your creative process even if you've never written a poem or lifted a brush! Cathleen will demonstrate some watercolor techniques (her chosen medium), but you can draw and/or paint with any materials in response to prompts in a supportive environment. Learn how artists like Jean Arp, Kenneth Patchen and Wassily Kandinsky linked the written word and visual art. Practice writing about your and others’ work and garner ideas for artists’ statements. All levels welcome.
